Talking point: Creative environments

This week's talking point is creative environments. Before getting together with the members of your conversation group, go over the questions below so that ideas come to mind more easily the day you get together with your friends and you can work out vocabulary problems beforehand.

Do you work or study at a desk every day?
Is it always the same desk?
If not, where do you work or study?
What does the place where you work/study look like?
What do you think it says about you?
What factors are important to you in your work/study area?

easy access to photocopier/printer
number of people in the same room
size of the room
comfortable chair
view from the window
colour scheme
coffee making facilities

Which of the above factors does your work/study area have?
What do you miss?
Does the place where you work or study look like the photos below?
What are the main similarities and differences?
Do you think that working/studying somewhere like this would make you more creative and efficient?

Which of these things do you think are more likely to make someone more creative? Put the list in order, from most likely (1) to least likely (6).
playing music quietly
hearing colleagues'/friends'/family's phone conversations
having the heating turned down
having a messy desk
feeling tired
having a nap
